the best wallet insert for the passport traveler’s notebook
I know you want a flat and functional EDC. That’s everyday carry for the uninitiated.
One of the main issues I’ve had with any of the Traveler’s Notebook wallet inserts is that they have a bulky zipper that makes the writing experience uneven. No one wants a big bump in the corner of their notebook when trying to have an on-paper existential crisis.
Paperwallet has been on my radar for a few years now, but only recently did I come across the brand again for a potential mind-blowing solution.
Paperwallet now makes a Passport wallet, which you can probably tell by the name, carries a Passport and cards for your wallet. The discovery came at a kismet time because I’d just started trying out my TN Passport again, since the Regular size was starting to feel a bit too hefty for me. Plus ADHD-brain novelty-seeking.
No, I do not want to carry around my Passport book. But, I do want to carry around my favorite Passport-sized notebook insert by Sarica Studio. And I do also want to carry around my drivers license, since I started to realize I was often driving around and existing in the world without proper identification.
So like any good stationery nerd, I pulled out my ruler and diligently measured the my passport notebook inserts against the measurements provided on the Paperwallet website. The Passport wallet is a bit steep in price, so it made it a little difficult to pull the trigger. I took a leap of faith and purchased one, along with two of their wallet finder cards for fun.
Well hey. It turns out that the Paperwallet Passport wallet is the perfect freaking solution for the virgin Traveler’s Notebook. It provides:
At least 4 secure card slots that I think can be doubled up
Slim RFID protection (!)
Two extra secure slots for where you can either slip in your passport, a notebook, or extra cards, or even valuable ephemera

I’m so excited by this Passport wallet solution, and even moreso because I can go one level slimmer by putting my Sarica insert directly into the Paperwallet Passport wallet. Slips into the back pocket beautifully!
