Hand lettering and typography fanatics: here is a list of inspiring female letterers to follow on Twitter.
As a follow up to my posts on letterers to follow on Instagram, I wanted to share a list of amazingly talented female letterers to follow on Twitter. While you can follow these ladies via other networks, the binding ingredient a findable Twitter account, so there you have it. Plus, Twitter is my favorite.
Hand lettering males - I promise to do a less gender-discriminatory post next time.
I don't need to do a lot of explaining here. As Jessica Hische's URL suggests, she is awesome and is easily the most well known letterer in general. Let me drop a trying-to-play-it-cool mention and say that I met her in Paris. No big deal (!!!!!!!!!).
Jill De Haan
Jill's beautiful work features calligraphic inspiration a hand-sketched feel. I first discovered her work on Behance, where her Washingtonian Magazine feature of Where Foodies Shop was laid out, panel by panel.
Allison is based in New York. Her day job is Graphic Designer at Birchbox. How cool is that? Her lettering work features a lot of cool 3D-esque script.
Marlene, based in Toronto, is a designer, illustrator and letterer extraordinaire. Her illustration works on Reunion Island Coffee Ltd's coffee brewing guide as well as her logo work really stand out to me.
Mary Kate McDevitt
Jen's featured Squarespace portfolio may have been the reason I switched from WordPress to Squarespace. I love her brush-y and bold lettering designs.
Heather Diane Hardison
Cyla has a lot of beautiful lettering styles in her repertoire and is also a graphic designer and illustrator.
Iskra is one of those super talented artists who is so cool and so old school that she doesn't really have an online presence. Too bad, because her work is so inspiring! At least she's on Behance.
Did I miss anyone?
