How to Create a Repeating Pattern in Illustrator

How to Create a Repeating Pattern in Illustrator

Repeating patterns are too much fun. I'm a little obsessed. Let me walk you through the steps of how to create a non-directional repeating pattern in Illustrator, with help from the Scatter Brush tool. We'll vectorize your motif illustrations and then use the Scatter Brush tool to create a randomized feel, then do a bit more work in Illustrator to create a seamlessly repeating pattern.

Pre-requisite: You'll need to know how to vectorize your illustrations. Purchase the tutorial, How to Vectorize Watercolor Doodles in Illustrator, if you don't know how to do this already.
